Activities

There’s always something going on at our country parks, with a vast variety of ranger-led events for all.

Learn new skills, connect with nature through the seasons, and meet like-minded people from your local community. 

For some events, lower age restrictions may apply for safety reasons, so please check this when making your booking to avoid disappointment on the day. 

School holiday events

Keep children active and entertained outdoors in the school holidays with events such as pond dipping, den building and campfire cooking. These events are led by our education rangers and will help children gain valuable skills and knowledge while having lots of fun! 

If there are no events showing for a particular school holiday, please check back closer to the time.

Connecting with Nature

Connect with nature with a choice of activities such as bird box building, free moth mornings, willow weaving, macrame, spotting birds, bees and butterflies, and much more. While some events are designed with families in mind, there are also activities like willow weaving aimed at ages 16+. Check out the full collection to find something for you.

Toddler Trundles

Toddler Trundles take place at 10am every Wednesday during term time at Ryton Pools Country Parks. Led by our rangers, each week features a new activity designed specifically for pre-school age children discovering their outdoor world.

Wednesday Walks at Kingsbury Water Park

Join a ranger every Wednesday at 10am for a guided walk around Kingsbury Water Park to learn new trails around the park and immerse yourself in nature. This is a free to join walk but please book via Eventbrite to secure your place and check available dates.

Birthday parties

Plan the ultimate birthday adventure outdoors at Kingsbury Water Park and Ryton Pools Country Park! Activities include den building, wildwoods, pond dipping, minibeast hunting and more. You’ll have full use of our indoor party room during your slot, as well as a ranger-led session. Costs £160 for 20 participants, plus a small Eventbrite booking fee.

Room hire

Our spacious education centres at Kingsbury Water Park and Ryton Pools Country Park are available for hire, providing an ideal space for meetings, family get-togethers, or regular workshops. They seat up to 30 adults, with catering options available from our on-site cafes.
