Responses to visitor survey 2013

We continue to work on comments and suggestions made through our surveys and comment cards, and where possible keep you updated on what has been achieved that you, our visitors have asked for.

You can fill out the on-line survey at anytime during the year with a chance to win a free annual parking permit.

225 surveys were completed last year.  The most popular time to visit was between 12.00pm and 2.00pm and the visits last between 2 and 4 hours. 27% of people said they visit at least once a month.  The reasons for visiting were mostly for a day out, or to allow children to play.  The majority of people had visited the park previously, or had local knowledge of it.  Satisfaction levels remain good with over 50% stating the parks are good value for money.

Main highlights

Country Park What you said What we are doing
Ryton Better cafe & toilet facilities New cafe and toilets now completed and open for business
Ryton Tap water There is a new outside tap, and this water is drinkable for our 4 legged and 2 legged friends!
Pooley  Ryton

More bins and dog poo bins A common request – however, you can use any bin to dispose of dog waste provided it is wrapped sufficiently. Extra bins would cost more and require more resources and time to empty them – time we feel is better spent maintaining the park and providing ranger led events!
Help us to help you, by taking your general rubbish home – this will help us keep our costs down and the park tidy
Pooley More benches We will continue to put in new benches and also dont forget you can buy a commemorative bench if you want!
Kingsbury public events at weekends and Bank Holidays We do have events on at weekends at our parks – just check out our event guide either on the web, or pick up a copy at our Visitor Centres.  We tend not to put on events during Bank Holidays as the parks are always very busy anyway, and we need all our staff focussing on assisting with visitor management and emptying bins, and keeping the facilities clean & tidy.
Kingsbury more choice in the cafe Our cafe at Kingsbury is run by a concession – if you have any suggestions for food or drinks I am sure they would be open to ideas.  Please feel free to talk to them directly.  They are called Mark & Barbara, and would be happy to hear suggestions.
Kingsbury discounts for regular customers We do have great value permits which give you a great discount on the day rates to visit the park.  However, we also keep our prices as low as possible but we are moving towards being self-financing, so we need our income from visitors to keep going!
