Follow the trail around the park, complete your trail sheet and collect your prize – fun for all thefamily. Collect your trail sheet from the Visitor Centre.

Volunteer Saturday at Ryton Pools Country Park

Come along and learn about practical country park management in the best way possible – by getting stuck in! Meeting one Saturday per month, we will undertake a variety of practical work tasks such as pond clearance, fence repairs and hedge laying. This is a great way to meet like minded people, keep active and help manage your local country park! No experience necessary as full training is given. Please bring sturdy footwear and suitable clothes for the weather conditions.

Saturday 21 October

October Wild Autumn Evening at Ryton Pools Country Park

Join the Rangers for an evening of nocturnal campfire fun! Take a look at what animals the night cameras have taken pictures of over the past month and find out about our nocturnal wild animals in the park, some of which you may be lucky enough to see as dusk falls. Enjoy a campfire baked potato and some melted marshmallows before the Rangers lead you to the meadow to have a go at some tracking and stalking games in the dark to finish off the evening with a laugh. Please bring your own filling for your baked potato. A family event, under 5’s will need extra supervision.

Make a Bird Feeder at Hartshill Hayes Country Park

Drop in between 10.00 a.m. and 12.00 p.m. and make a bird feeder from hazel, ready for winter.

Dragons at Kingsbury Water Park

Drop in to make a dragon puppet out of an egg carton. Take it away to scare everyone with!

Spooky Campfire and Dens at Ryton Pools Country Park

Come and have some fun discovering how to design and build your own woodland shelter that’s camouflaged and big enough for your team, and waterproof…ish!! The Rangers will be on hand to provide tips, materials and help. When all the shelters are built we will light a small fire and toast some marshmallows. An event for children aged 3 years and over, who must be accompanied by an adult.

Willow Wizard and Witch Wands at Ryton Pools Country Park

Just imagine having a wand like a wizard to get you out of all sorts of tricky situations! Find a magical stick – or better still, let it find you! The Rangers will help you turn it into something really special and magical. An event for children aged 3 years and over, who must be accompanied by an adult.

Bonfire Dens and Toffee Apples at Kingsbury Water Park

Build a den out of natural materials and then cook your own toffee apple over the camp fire.  Suitable for children aged 5 and above, who must be accompanied by an adult. Wear old clothes, you will get messy!

Ryton Young Anglers at Ryton Pools Country Park

Angling tuition sessions to be held on Wednesday in Warwickshire’s school holidays, in conjunction with Leamington Angling Club. Come along as many times as you wish and learn the essentials of good angling and a little about the species in Ryton Pool. Suitable for beginners or those with a little experience; no equipment required.

Felted Spooky Scene Workshop at Ryton Pools Country Park

Come and learn the wonderful craft of felt making with felt artist, Ursula Westwood. Create a spooky scene of a creepy crawly, bat or eerie woodland scene, and have great fun with water and bubbles whilst learning the felt making process. Toddler Trundle at Ryton Pools Country Park

A weekly event for the tiniest of tiddlers! Leaf fun, stories, mud pies and collecting treasures will be amongst some of our activities designed for the smallest naturalists. After the walk and activities, head back to The Courtyard Cafe for refreshments (extra cost for refreshments, exclusive reduced-priced Toddler Trundle menu available). A quarterly programme is available from the Visitor Centre, giving activity details for each week.

Halloween Lanterns at Kingsbury Water Park

Transform willow and hazel sticks cut from the park into spooky lanterns by adding tissue paper and lots of glue. They cast an eerie light, perfect for Halloween. A family event. Wear old clothes, you will get messy!

Saturday 28 October

Halloween Fright Night at Kingsbury Water Park

The railway will be operating from 2:00pm to 8:00pm with spooky rides and a children’s Halloween fancy dress competition, prizes for the best costume. Complimentary railway tickets will be issued to winners of the fancy dress competition when accompanied by a fare paying adult.  Hot refreshments available at Harvester Station from 2:00pm

The ghosts and zombies will be out after 5:00pm  and the main gates will be closed at 7:00pm.  This year we welcome characters from Enter Edem who will keep you entertained with magic tricks, puppetry, juggling and games whilst you queue for the train.

Halloween Fright Night at Ryton Pools Country Park

Bring the whole family to Ryton Pools for a spooky evening of Halloween fun and games with Old Warty and friends. Pick up your trick-or-treat fun bag as you enter the haunted courtyard.  Attractions include rides on the Ghost Train, Spooky Photo Corner, the Horror Hospital, Old Warty the Witch’s Haunted Garden, Tunnel – Web Spider Lair, Bat Cave, Clumsy Ranger Trail and much more! Don’t forget to bring your own carved pumpkin to put out on the Ryton Pumpkin Trail, to be judged by the visitors. A prize will be awarded for the one voted best! The Courtyard Cafe will be open all evening selling hot food and Halloween treats at an additional cost. Please bring a torch. An event for children aged 3 years and above, who must be accompanied by an adult. Please note – only one adult per child will be permitted on the ghost train.

Halloween: Little Trot of Horrors at Ryton Pools Country Park

Come and join in with the spooky story of Halloween at Ryton Pools! Join your friendly, ghostly guide in the courtyard and join in with the activities as you explore! Can you find the skeleton’s missing bones and skulls? or discover what is hiding in the witch’s garden? What has happened to the clumsy Rangers and how DID that giant spider find its way to Ryton Pools? Will you be brave enough to claim all your prizes? This event is designed for younger children or those who may find the fright night a little scary in the dark. There will be four hourly guided “trots” around the activities.  Suitable for children aged 3 years plus who must be accompanied by an adult.
