Toddler Trundle at Ryton Pools Country Park

A weekly event for the tiniest of tiddlers! Leaf fun, stories, mud pies and collecting treasures will be amongst some of our activities designed for the smallest naturalists. After the walk and activities, head back to The Courtyard Cafe for refreshments (extra cost for refreshments, exclusive reduced-priced Toddler Trundle menu available). A quarterly programme is available from the Visitor Centre, giving activity details for each week.

Saturday 6 May

Volunteer Saturday at Ryton Pools Country Park

Come along and learn about practical country park management in the best way possible – by getting stuck in! Meeting one Saturday per month, we will undertake a variety of practical work tasks, such as pond clearance, fence repairs and hedge laying. This is a great way to meet like-minded people, keep active and help manage your local country park! No experience necessary as full training is given. Please bring sturdy footwear and suitable clothes for the weather conditions.

Evening Chorus at Ryton Pools Country Park (joint event with Heritage and Culture Warwickshire)

Have you ever wanted to enjoy the sound of birdsong but are put off by the early start? If so this event is for you! Our Warwickshire Museums Colleagues will be here for the evening, with part of their birdsong collection for a close-up look at some of the identifying features of the birds we might hear. Subsequently, we will head out into the park to enjoy the incredible, natural spectacle of the evening chorus first hand. Drinks and biscuits included.

Follow the trail around the park. Complete your trail sheet and collect your prize. Fun for all the family!

Pond Dipping at Kingsbury Water Park

Come and pond dip with us, to discover the wonders of life under water. A family event. Wear old clothes.

Tuesday 30 May

Young Bushcrafter at Ryton Pools Country Park

Fun Bushcraft session led by two of the Rangers at Ryton Pools Country Park. Activities include fire lighting, whittling, cordage making, location games and shelter building. The session will include a campfire baked potato, handmade dough sticks, popcorn and marshmallows. Parents wanting to join in on the baked potato feast can, at a cost of £2.50 per adult. Suitable for children ages 7 years and above. Please bring your own potato fillings and a drink.

Beautiful Felted Butterflies and Moths Workshop at Ryton Pools Country Park

Come and learn the wonderful craft of felt making with artist Ursula Westwood. Create a beautiful picture in felt of either a butterfly or a moth, by looking at their design, colour and pattern. Ryton Young Anglers at Ryton Pools Country Park

Angling tuition sessions to be held on Wednesdays in the Warwickshire school holidays, in conjunction with Leamington Angling Club. Come along as many times as you wish and learn the essentials of good angling and a little about the species found in Ryton Pools. Suitable for beginners or those with a little experience; no equipment required.

Bish Bash Bosh Art at Kingsbury Water Park

Minibeast Hunting at Kingsbury Water Park

Come and join us for a #30dayswild event! One of our rangers will be leading 2, one hour minibeast hunting sessions. These one hour events will take place in a patch of our woodland – why not come along and see what beasties you can find!

Nature Crowns Walk at Kingsbury Water Park

Guided Wild Walk at Kingsbury Water Park

Come and join us for a #30dayswild event! Join Laura as she takes you on a guided walk around Kingsbury Water Park, through woodland and meadow and along the River Tame to explore the park and discover new areas. Please wear suitable clothing and footwear for this 2 mile walk.
