Every Wednesday throughout March

Toddler Trundle at Ryton Pools Country Park

A weekly event for the tiniest of tiddlers!  Leaf fun, stories, mud pies and collecting treasures will be among some of our activities designed for the smallest naturalists.  After the walk and activities, head back to The Courtyard Cafe for refreshments (extra cost for refreshments).  A quarterly programme is available from the visitor centre giving details for each weeks activities.

Saturday 11 March

Volunteer Saturday at Ryton Pools Country Park

Come along and learn about practical country park management in the best way possible – by getting stuck in! Meeting one Saturday per month, we will undertake a variety of practical work tasks such as pond clearance, fence repairs and hedge laying. This is a great way to meet like minded people, keep active and help manage your local country park! No experience necessary as full training is given. Please bring sturdy footwear and suitable clothes for the weather conditions.

  • Time: 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Sunday 26 March

4 Mile Walk at Hartshill Hayes Country Park

Join us for a 4 mile circular walk with a Countryside Ranger, taking in the surrounding countryside and fantastic views across 4 counties. Please wear strong suitable footwear and wet weather clothing if needed.

  • Cost: FREE – but donations welcome towards animal welfare charities

Easter Fun Trail at Kingsbury Water Park

Join in with our Easter quiz – collect your sheet from the Information Centre, follow the trail and spot the clues. When completed, return to the Information Centre to collect a small prize. Cost: £2.00 per trail sheet.

Easter Family Bushcraft Fun at Ryton Pools Country Park

Come along and try to survive in the woodland. Have a go at shelter building, whittling, fire lighting and relaxing on a hammock before you tuck into a fire baked jacket potato and fire toasted marshmallows. Learn new skills, laugh a lot and spend a day in the great outdoors! Suitable for children aged 3 years plus. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Under 5’s will need extra supervision. Ratio = 1 adult to 2 children. Please bring your own potato fillings and a drink. You may bring a camping chair if you wish.

Chicks and Bugs on Sticks at Kingsbury Water Park

Easter Teddy Bears Sensory Trail at Ryton Pools Country Park

Bring your favourite teddy out for an Easter adventure, to do some fantastic fun sensory activities. Then build a special den in the children’s wood. Suitable for children aged 3 years plus who must be accompanied by an adult. Don’t forget to bring your teddy! Easter Chicks and Baby Birds on Sticks at Ryton Pools Country Park

Come and join the Rangers on this art and craft session! Make cute chicks and baby birds on sticks to wave around or decorate your bedroom. Suitable for children aged 3 years plus who must be accompanied by an adult.

Wednesday 12 April

Dens and Marshmallows at Kingsbury Water Park

Join us to build a den from natural materials and then toast some marshmallows over a small fire. An event for children aged 5 years and above, who must be accompanied by an adult. Wear old clothes – you will get muddy and dirty! Marshmallows are not vegetarian.

Wonderful Felted Spring Picture Workshop at Ryton Pools Country Park

Make a gorgeous felted picture of a spring scene using wool fibres and the wet felting technique. Learn this exciting craft with felt artist, Ursula Westwood. Young Anglers at Ryton Pools Country Park

Angling tuition sessions to be held on Wednesdays in the Warwickshire school holidays, in conjunction with Leamington Angling Club. Come along as many times as you wish and learn the essentials of good angling and a little about the species in Ryton Pool. Suitable for beginners or those with a little experience; no equipment required.
